Tim + Jeslynn - Married!

I have been looking forward to sharing this post for so many reasons.

About a month ago, we had the honor of hosting a wedding in our backyard.  What made it so special, is that it was the wedding of a couple who gave their lives to the Lord at one of Rivertown’s first public gatherings last summer.  Timmy and Jeslynn have grown in their faith and become dear friends over this past year.  It has been so neat to watch the gospel transform their lives.

The wedding was an “all hands on deck” event for our church, and I loved watching all our people come together to pull it off.  From the beautiful decor, the wedding party, flowers, music, and ceremony, to the lawn care (thanks for mowing our grass, guys) and setup - SO many people showed up to serve in amazing ways.  To me, it was very telling of what the Lord is doing here. There is a real community being formed – people who genuinely love each other, and are willing to give of their time, resources, and talents to benefit others.  I was so proud of our people.

Timmy and Jeslynn – your day was beautiful.  We love you both so much and are so proud of you.  May God bless your marriage and give you His divine grace as you seek to represent His love to the world, and to your sweet Josiah. You have everything you need in Jesus!

I was just one of a few people taking pictures that day, so you might notice a few "holes" in the normal sequence of events. It's probably because I was off nursing a baby or chasing a toddler and someone else was doing a boss job of capturing that part of the day :)

I love this one of the three generations...

This sweet prayer time before the girls walked down was one of my favorite moments of the day.

Jeslynn, you looked stunning!

There's a lot of great moves going on in this picture. Please don't miss Corey in the back.
I love the way he is looking at her.
Levi was quite enthralled with Jeslynn and kept trying to steal her away to go on adventures with him in the woods. Shady.
They pretty much laughed their way through their whole first dance. It was really precious :)

Levi was feeling really good about his skills at the DJ table.

I'm not exactly sure who started the cake smashing fight, but Tim, my friend - you're looking pretty guilty.
The day ended with the signing of the marriage license after LOTS of dancing. It was a perfect day!

Justin + Steph - Wedding portraits

This sweet couple is such a blessing to my family and we have really enjoyed becoming friends with them over the past year.

I went to highschool with Justin and Steph, but we didn't really know each other because we were grade apart.  We reconnected when they started visiting our church (The City Church) right before Steph and were due to have our little boys.  We ended up having Levi and Jaxon 15 hours apart in hospital rooms right next to each other - crazy timing! - and started spending time with each other after that.

It was obvious that the Lord was at work in their lives, and in November of 2011, Justin gave his life to the Lord for the first time.  A few months later, Steph realized that she didn't have a relationship with Jesus, and gave her life to Him as well! Our families have become fast friends and we are so thankful that the Lord allowed our paths to cross again.

Steph and Justin got married young, and didn't have a typical wedding.  So, right in time for their 5 year anniversary, they wanted to celebrate with official wedding portraits.  I was thrilled to do the honors, and tickled to see them see each other in wedding clothes for the first time :).

To me, these pictures represent the pivotal crossroads in their marriage where they declared Jesus as Lord and started rebuilding and restructuring everything in their lives according to His Word. Not an easy change to make when you've been walking on a different path for so many years together, but it's beautiful, and so, so worth it.

I'm loved that they wanted to do a "reveal" to see each other in their wedding attire for the first time, because that moment was priceless!

Steph doesn't think she has a good serious face. I totally disagree.

Favorite!

Steph - you're beautiful!

Another favorite!
